Ryan Jason Johnson, 50, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at his home. He was born on August 25, 1975, in Terre Haute, to Rick Jay Johnson and Eileen (Quilliam) Smith.

Ryan is survived by his mother, Eileen Smith (Bruce) of Terre Haute; sister, Beth Johnson of Terre Haute; nieces, Christina Jones (Dillon Jackson) of Terre Haute, and Brittney Johnston (Jeremiah) of Terre Haute; great nieces and great nephews: Ashlyn Jones, Hadley Jones, Bentley Jones, Kora Jones, Camden Jackson, and Noah Johnston; an aunt, Betsy Harbrueger (Bill); and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rick Johnson; grandparents: John Emerson Quilliam, Imogene Quilliam, Bob Johnson, and Vaunda Johnson; and uncle and aunt, John and Diana Quilliam.

Ryan attended Terre Haute South High School and graduated from Terre Haute North. He worked at Honey Creek Collision for nearly 7 years where he enjoyed the camaraderie of the team and always felt like he was part of the family. He loved the Lord. Ryan enjoyed rock and roll music and was skilled at playing the guitar. He liked to relax by playing video games and watching professional wrestling. Ryan also enjoyed animals. In nature, he was always looking up for an American Bald Eagle sighting. At home, he had a passion for his huge tank of colorful fish, always redecorating and changing the theme of it monthly, for both their enjoyment and enrichment and his. Most of all, he cherished his beloved little dog, Moochie, who was a devoted companion to him and was alongside him to the very end.

Graveside services for Ryan will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Grandview Cemetery.
