Robert V. Burskey

Robert Burskey, 93, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 31, 1932, in Milwaukee, WI to Valentine Joseph Burskey and Collette Mary Smith Burskey Myers.

Robert is survived by his children: Collette V. Stroud, Robert C. Burskey, Dennis C. Burskey, Mary Jane Mattox Higginbotham, J. Leo Burskey, and Scott M. Burskey; fourteen grandchildren, and thirty-one great grandchildren with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Virginia Nell Harrison Burskey; children, Ruth Ellen Bramble and Mark Fredrick Burskey; siblings, Dorthy Holm, Val Burskey Jr., Ellen Burskey, and Ruth Perrucol; and daughters-in-law, Rona Burskey and Gerri Burskey.

Robert proudly served in the United States Navy and the United States Army Reserves from which he retired. He worked as a semi truck driver for several companies and retired as a driver from Chesty Foods. He was a member of the American Legion Post 346, Murdock Auto Racing Club, and several other organizations.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Grandview Cemetery with Deacon Steve Gretencord officiating and military honors.
