Rev. Dawn Curlee-Carlson, 71, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1954, in Sinton, Texas, to Joseph Harrell Curlee and Lola Tidwell Curlee.

Dawn is survived by her son, Alex Carlson of Terre Haute; brothers, Chris Curlee and John T. Curlee of Sinton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Kraft.

Rev. Dawn was the current senior co-pastor of Anamesa Christian Church. She founded The Phoenix Congregational Fellowship and served as a senior pastor for a 175 year old Terre Haute Congregational Church. A native Sinton, Texan, Rev. Dawn was both a teacher and librarian and served as the regional director of the program for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities in west central Indiana for twenty years. She served on leadership with the National Association of Congregational Christian Churched and worked with Ministry Councils and Task Teams for the NACCC. Rev. Dawn enjoyed weaving, painting, writing, and was an avid baseball fan, rarely missing games played by her beloved San Francisco Giants, a passion she shared with her late husband, John.
