Melinda Fay Dove

Melinda Fay Dove, 67, of Bringhurst, IN, and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born on November 22, 1958, in Frankfort, IN to Glen and Hazel (Isabell) Montgomery. She married Benny Dove in 1986.

Melinda is survived by her brother, John Glenn Montgomery (Dollie) of Bringhurst; sister, Glenda Shope of Terre Haute; nieces, Andrea, Amber, Breanne, and Michaela; and great-nephews, Wyatt and Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant daughter, Melissa Sue Hendrickson.

Melinda worked for many years as a business account representative for GTE/Verizon where she set up systems and trained others. She attended Saint Mary of the Woods College. Melinda was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling and attending the annual Class of 1977 Christmas Party. She cherished her life with Benny and the kids, her family was everything to her.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20 at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, with visitation an hour prior, at the funeral home with Chaplain Mike Bennett officiating. Melinda will be laid to rest in Helts Prairie Cemetery. Melinda requested that no flowers be sent, instead, please bring canned goods to donate to a local food pantry or please make a donation to the food pantry of your choice.
