Mary Agnes “Aggie” Haley Rhoades, 76, of Fort Myers, FL and formerly of Terre Haute, IN passed away Friday, September 4, 2026 in Fort Myers. She was born June 19, 1950 in Terre Haute to John W. Haley, Sr. and Mary Alice Lundstrom Haley.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, John W. Rhoades; two daughters, Jennifer Rhoades and Anna Umstead (Jason); a son, John Morgan Rhoades; and a granddaughter, Maya Umstead. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Joe Haley (Beth Pinkston), Bill Haley (Beth), Theresa Houston, Kate Spencer, Tom Haley (Melissa), Joan Borginini (Mike), and Molly Callahan (David); sisters-in-law, Carla Haley and Dona Haley; brothers-in-law, Ron Rhoades (Judy), Frank Rhoades (Chris) and Dean Rhoades (Chris); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John W. Haley, Jr. and James E. Haley, Sr.; mother and father-in-law, Ernest and Audra Rhoades; sister-in-law, Chris Haley and brothers-in-law, Brent Houston, Paul Singhurse, and Jeff Spencer; two nephews; and a great nephew.
Aggie was a graduate of Schulte High School and attended St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.
She and John owned and operated farms in Pierceton and Lewis, IN as well businesses in Fort Myers including Prime Time Video and a Petland franchise. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and was a volunteer with Lee Health both of Fort Myers.
Aggie lived a life of quiet strength and dignity with the light of her devout faith always evident.
Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2026 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date.
