Mary Ann Barro, 76, of Terre Haute passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 in her residence. She was born January 8, 1950 in Terre Haute to Joseph Casper and Mary Christian Casper.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, John Barro; daughter, Felicia Barro; son, John Michael Barro (Cortany);son, Tony Hoffman (Jo); brother, Joseph Casper (Jana); best friend, Linda Griffith;  special nieces, Marissa Zheng (Pi) and Kristin Cicenas (Sean); several other nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and special friends, Dr. Thomas Baker, Dr. Hans Andreasen, Katherine Tucker, and all the nurses, doctors, and staff at UAP Northside. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Suzanne Tyler and her husband Kevin Tyler.

Mary Ann was a dedicated nurse for over 52 years graduating from Indiana State School of Nursing. She atarted her career at St. Anthony's Hospital and finished at UAP Northside where she worked for the last 35 years. She loved her work and caring for patients, family, and friends. Mary Ann loved gardening around the house and she loved animals. She would never turn a stray away, at one time having 13 cats and 7 dogs..

Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2026 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street with the Wabash Valley Nursing Honor Guard honoring her at the end of visitation. Private burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
