Margie Lee Stoffers

Margie Lee Stoffers, 90, of Terre Haute, IN, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on August 16th in Bloomington. Born in Burnett, IN, in 1936, she was the eldest daughter of Floyd and Margaret Stowe. Margie, who was affectionately referred to as "Babo" by her grandchildren, attended Otter Creek High School before marrying the love of her life, Alan "Buzz" Stoffers, in 1958. The thing she loved and was most proud of was her family, followed closely by Stoffers Greenhouse, a family business she owned and operated for more than fifty years.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Buzz, and her sisters Viola "Sissy" Thomas (and her late husband Eric), Nancy Stowe, and Jennifer Stowe; and her brothers-in-law Dale Keyes, Jack Johnson, and Michael Callecod. She is survived by her sister Judy; her sons Michael (and Myla) and Patrick (and Christine); her grandchildren Ashley (and Kyle), Lauren (and Andrew), Myden (and Paul), and Evan (and Brittany); her great-grandchildren Katie, Jaden, Xavier, Corben, Amelie, and Finnegan; and finally, an eclectic group of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she adored. Margie will be remembered as a hard worker, a devoted caregiver, a die-hard Cubs fan, and a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who worried constantly about her family. She will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held in Margie's honor on a future date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the IU Health Hospice House Fund.
