John J. Corrigan

John J. Corrigan, Ph.D., 86, of Terre Haute passed away Friday evening, May 29, 2015 at St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil, Indiana. Dr. Corrigan was a Professor and Associate Dean of Life Sciences at Indiana State University. He was born January 17, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Corrigan and Reseda Margowsky Corrigan. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Estelle Blond Corrigan; three children, Deborah Gottschalk and her husband, Marc, of Laguna Beach, California, David Corrigan of Slidell, Louisiana and Susan Eve Corrigan of Bloomington, Indiana; three granddaughters, Atara Gottschalk, Dania Gottschalk and Sara Gottschalk; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Judith Corrigan. Dr. Corrigan received both his Master's Degree and Ph.D. Degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was a member of the United Hebrew Congregation and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Graveside services will take place at 2:30 P.M. Monday, June 1, 2015 in Highland Lawn Cemetery with Dr. Herschel Chait officiating. There is no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society, 1811 South Fruitridge Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47803 or to the United Hebrew Congregation, 540 South 6th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807.
