Jerry K. Wright

Jerry K. Wright, 89, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025 in his residence. He was born May 20, 1936 in Terre Haute to Glenn Wright and Oleeta Mae Gearheart Wright Skelton. In 1955 he married Betty L. Gray.

Survivors include two children, Debbie Mogan (Greg) of Brazil and Denny Wright (Jean) of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Jeri Jo Casassa (Cam), Nikki Phillips (Drew), Dusty Wright (Ashley), and Ethan Wright (Taylor); ten great grandchildren, Dawson, Austin, Carter, Sawyer, River, Kason, Kinsley, Brooks, Lindy, and Briar; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty; brothers, Art and Dick Wright; and grandfather, Fred Ellis who raised him.

Jerry graduated from Glenn High School in 1955. He was at Hulman Field in the Air National Guard for 38 years and retired as Chief Master Sergeant. He was a 64 year member of Centennial Lodge 541 in Brazil, Zorah Shrine, and Riley Legion Post 328.

Jerry loved being with his family. He got his grandchildren started in quarter midget racing and continued to follow his great grandkids in Wright Motor Sports.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 23, 2025 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Steve Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025 with masonic services at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Zorah Shrine Transportation Unit.
