Hans Frederick Graf Jr. passed away on September 25, 2026. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Hans and Ruth Graf, Fred grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he graduated from Wiley High School. He went on to attend Indiana State University, earning a degree in Political Science. From there he launched a long and dedicated career with the Social Security Administration, where he served faithfully until his retirement.

He spent his free time doing the things he loved most - traveling, visiting with friends and family across the globe, playing music and golf, and cooking. He was an avid racing fan and attended the Indy 500 nearly every year for six decades.

Fred was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Reba, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving children, Frederick Graf and his wife Lisa, Julianna Kern, Martin Wilhelm and his wife Angie, and Daniel Wilhelm. He was a proud and caring grandfather to Laura, Scott, Anna, Maddie, Ethan, and Ori, and a deeply loyal friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Friends and family may gather at Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.If friends so desire, memorial contributions maybe made to Blood Cancer United (formerly The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society). Private graveside services will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery, Terre Haute, IN.
