Gerald “Gig” Thomas Jeffers, 100, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026 in Clinton Gardens. He was born April 10, 1926 in Terre Haute to Basil Jeffers and Ethel Davidson Jeffers.
Survivors include his children, Jimmie Jeffers (Polly) and Jeri Driskill; grandchildren, Jill Graham (Brian), Bryan Driskill (Crystal), Ben Jeffers, Matthew Jeffers (Nancy), Jane Driskill, and Kara Lovell (Jeremy); thirteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Edythe Jane, and his parents.
Gig was a member of Barbour Ave. United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Silent Men, a charter member of the Softball Hall of Fame, V.F.W. Post #972, American Legion Post #104, and the United Steel Workers. He was a machine operator at Visqueen and Tredegar for 40 years. Gig was the only surviving member of “The Team” and was very active in Little League and was on the Police Merit Board. Gig was a World War II Navy Veteran.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Friday, September 18, 2026 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Kathy Roush officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Friday. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Silent Men (envelopes will be provided at the funeral home).
