Esther Louise Annis

Esther Louise Annis of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away peacefully in her sleep with family by her side on July 2, 2025. Esther was born October 6, 1937 the only child of Hosea Annis and Myrtle Dooley Annis. Esther lived in Terre Haute nearly all of her 87 years of life. She married William Partlow in 1954 when she was just 17 years old. She and William had two children Victoria S Parlow Kelly and William Richard Annis (Necia). In 1960 Esther married again. This time to Larky Reed. Larky had four children from his previous marriage Dennis Reed, Sandra Reed Bealmear, Pamela Reed Bealmear, and Steven R. Reed I. Esther helped to raise Larky’s four older children and together they had two children Ginger L Reed Elmore (John) and Robert F Reed. Esther was a very strong, loving, and joyful person who loved her family and her Heavenly Father dearly. She loved to play the organ and sing hymns and Christmas songs for her family. She also loved animals especially her little dog Misty whom Robert nicknamed “Dirty Face” and her beloved cat Chang who never left her side. Esther had eleven adult grandchildren Gary Peak, Melissa Lamb (Rodney), Haley Annis, Josh Reik (Emily Boyer), Chris Reed (Jessica), Jamie Ashcraft, Kurtis Reed (Megan), Darren Reed, Travis Middleton (Krissy Kirkhoff), Britney Reed (Chad Pedigo), and Tiffany Reed (Jason). She also had many great grandchildren as well as great, great grandchildren. Esther will be greatly missed by family and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47803 officiated by Chaplain Chris Stahlman. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
