Claude A. McCalister

Claude McCalister, 94, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026 in his residence. He was born July 25, 1932 in Terre Haute to Claude H. McCalister and Leota Collier McCalister.

Survivors include his sons, Tim McCalister, Jeff McCalister, and James McCalister; daughter, Cathy McElroy; and grandchildren, Jake McCalister, Jamie Michelle McCalister, Cole River McElroy, and Ella Waters McElroy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joretta McCalister; his parents; and sisters, Delphine Beach and Jean Cox.

Claude was a 50 year member of Memorial United Methodist Church and the Elks. He was a Prudential Insurance Agent for over 30 years. Claude was an avid golfer and regularly attended ISU Basketball games and the Boot City Opry.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 27, 2026 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Bob Raschka officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
