Carol L. Orman

Carol L. Orman, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle, surrounded by her children. She was born on August 8, 1940, in Terre Haute, to Everett and Leatha DeLong Hall.

Carol is survived by her sons, Gary Orman (Chris Alspaugh) of Greencastle and Raymond Orman (Kelly) of Shelburn; daughter, Gale Wilson (Gary Moss) of Martinsville; grandchildren: Heather, Gary, Ryan, Wes, Matthew, Elissa, Joshua, and Adam; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James W. Orman; and a half-sister, Laura Curtis.

Carol was a 1958 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School. She married James Orman in 1957. She was a loan officer and a Vice President of Terre Haute Savings Bank. She served on the Terre Haute Board of Realtors. Carol was a former member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and currently was a member and attended Cross Lane Community Church. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Carol loved to square dance, line dance, and play euchre. She looked forward to strengthening her faith at Bible Study Fellowship. Carol’s faith and her family were most important to her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Wheaton officiating. Carol will be laid to rest next to her husband in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
