Carol Ann Burns

Carol Ann Sullivan Burns age 68 passed away January 23, 2026 at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. Carol was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Dan and Gail Sullivan and raised in Terre Haute where she met and married her husband of 46 years, Dan Burns.

Carol was a member of St. Joseph’s University Parish Church, the Sycamore Club and spent 24 years working at Union Hospital.

Carol is survived by her husband Dan; their daughter Alyson (Jonathan) Wise; brother-in-law Tim (Laura) Burns; sister-in-law Molly (Scott) Liebermann; aunt, Lorraine; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Dan and Gail; her son Daniel Burns and her sister Gail Sullivan Clune.

Visitation will be held prior to service from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s University Parish with Father Bob St. Martin officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
