Anne Marie Sporer, 92, of Terre Haute died Sunday, January 4, 2026, at The Gibson Family Center in Union Hospital. She was born on January 23, 1933, in Chicago, IL to Paul and Lucille Walsdorf. She was wonderful, kind, creative, and loving.
Survivors include her sons, John Sporer, Timothy Sporer, and Gregory Sporer (Sherrene); daughter, Barbara Black (Leland); grandchildren, Jason Black (Jessica), Aaron Black (Jennifer), Andrea McCoy (Christopher), and Ryan Sporer (Ellen); great grandchildren, Piper Black, Connor Black, Ella Black, Nora Black, Jack McCoy, Emric McCoy, Artemis McCoy, and Noah McCoy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, and brothers.
Her life revolved around her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had been active as a Girl Scout leader, square dancer, and organ player with LIFE. She enjoyed ceramic painting, stained glass making, quilting, candy making, and baking. Anne was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and was a regular cantor. She was a deeply talented artist with a particular fondness later in life for diamond art and quilting.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 12 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Bob St. Martin officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street with rosary service at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
